We are witnessing development in Hpapon area thanks to better transport and roads resulting from regional peace and stability. Hence all should further strengthen the recently restored peace. NCA will be signed soon for the peace of Union. Based on the recently restored peace, Tatmadaw will strive with full might for the development of entire Kayin State including Hpapon region, noted Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at his meeting with officers, rankers and families of Hpapon station.

The Senior General accompanied by his entourage met with officers, rankers and families of Hpapon station this morning.

The Senior General said under multiparty system, Tatmadaw is shouldering the duties of the nation apart from defence duties. It is giving priority to national defence while developing itself according to four strategies. The task of modernizing Tatmadaw involved the morale improvement. Reforms are being made beginning from military uniforms. Efforts are being made for easing the food, housing and clothing needs, and units on their part should carry out welfare through farming. Settlement plans for retired servicemen and women are underway. War veteran housing are being built for families of superannuation pensioners, wounded Tatmadawmen and soldiers who made supreme sacrifices. War veteran homes for the aged are also being constructed. Vocational education is disseminated to soldiers wounded in action to run production businesses. Physical improvement of Tatmadaw is also ensured.

The Senior General presented books on knowledge and art for officers, rankers, and families and exercise books through an official.

Daw Kyu Kyu Hla presented cash for the trust funds of maternal and child welfare association through an official; Joint Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) Commander- in-Chief (Air) General Khin Aung Myint, foodstuff; Maj-Gen Min Naung of office of Commanderin- Chief (Army), sports equipment.

After the meeting, the Senior General and party cordially conversed with officers, rankers, and families.

At Hpapon station military hospital, they asked after the health of soldiers being treated at the men’s ward and presented foodstuff. They looked around the hospital.

Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and party also cordially gave words of encouragement to families receiving treatment at women’s ward. 

The Senior General and party went to Hpapon district combined office where they presented foodstuff to departmental personnel after urging them to strive with utmost intellectual and physical ability for development of Hpapon region where peace and stability has been restored. At war veteran housing in Hpapon, they cordially greeted vets looking into their requirements and making coordination and providing cash assistance for building vet housings.
